Beginning Saturday (World Cancer Day) at 7:00 a.m., Mike Duhacek, the Canadian Ambassador for Cops for Cancer, and founder of helpmeburycancer, will pull a heavy snowmobile sled with the letters C.A.N.C.E.R. on it over 200 kilometres from Kelso Beach Park in Owen Sound to Oakville, in a week-long solo walk to raise funds and awareness for the Canadian Cancer Society, battling whatever the elements throw at him.
Mike will be wearing a tracker so anyone can log on and see where he is at anytime at helpmeburycancer.com. When Mike arrives in Oakville, he will “bury” the C.A.N.C.E.R. letters, made from cut wood from a Canadian pine tree, at the Halton Regional Police Headquarters in Oakville.
