OSHaRE is hosting full-course Thanksgiving meals this holiday season.
Executive Director Colleen Trask-Seaman says they will be hosting their 9th Thanksgiving meals from Oct. 6 to the 8.
OSHaRE plans on serving a Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
“Then on Friday and Saturday we will be doing a leftover. So each day we are going to do some fun turkey leftover that we all enjoy in our homes,” says Trask-Seaman.
Trask-Seaman says she is not sure how may they are going to serve this holiday season but are planning for between 150 and 200 people each day.
She adds they have also been seeing an increase in use of their services since the pandemic.
“This year we have seen an increase of about 30 per cent over last year and the number of meals that we have served to date this year, ” says Trask-Seaman. “I would assume for Thanksgiving, we will also see that increase.”
Trask-Seaman says she feels offering these special Thanksgiving meals are important to the community.
“For many of our guests, this will be the only Thanksgiving meal that they get this Thanksgiving season and we love to bring joy to people with the food that we serve,” says Trask-Seaman.
