Nottawa resident Doug Fox has written a baseball book called, ” On Account of Darkness ”
The fictionalized story, based on real events, chronicles the 1934 season, when the Chatham Coloured All Stars were accepted to play in the Ontario Baseball Association Intermediate B playoffs, breaking the color barrier in the sport more than a decade before Major League Baseball did.
Doug Fox spoke to Fred Wallace and explained how the concept of writing about this time period in provincial sports came to be.
