The Bruce County Public Library is getting ready to host a slew of events in anticipation for the return to school.
The library says the Culture Days events being held this September will be suited for every age.
Culture Days are a national celebration of arts and culture in Canada, with the goal of removing barriers and creating free opportunities for people to participate in arts and cultural experiences.
The library says it is bringing back the popular Tiny Art Projects. Those taking part can choose for their piece to be part of the travelling tiny art show from Sept. 23 to Oct. 16.
The library will also be holding science literacy week from Sept. 19 to the 25, and this year’s theme is mathematics. People who stop by one of the participating branches will be able to pick up a package containing a take-home activity.
The library’s 3D printers will be finishing their time at the Southampton, Tara, and Sauble Beach branches before moving on in October. Each branch will be running programs to help people get familiar with 3D printing.
The library is bringing back is after school club in Tara and Chesley on Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m., and will offer a new program in Mildmay this year. The library says the drop-in program is available for children ages five to 12.
The library will be rounding out September by recognizing Truth and Reconciliation Day on the 30. People are invited to share their expressions of support and learn about the calls to action with the library. Priscillia Yellowhead will be hosting story telling and a drumming ceremony at the Tobermory Branch at 1:30 p.m.
