A new Indigenous themed crosswalk is coming to Meaford this fall.
The municipality says the new crosswalk, featuring white feathers, and an orange background, will be installed at Nelson and Sykes Street between TD Bank and Meaford Hall Arts and Cultural Centre.
“The crosswalk will be a lasting symbol of how our municipality supports a diverse and inclusive community,” says the municipality.
The installation of the crosswalk was included in the 2022 operating budget, and work will be done the week of Aug. 22 to the 26, weather permitting.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will later be held on Sept. 30 in honour of the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.
