The Township of Chatsworth is buying a new light rescue truck for its fire department.
Chatsworth council approved a recommendation at its meeting Wednesday morning to green light the $234,000 purchase from Ayr-based company 1200 Degrees (Darch Fire).
The township had allocated $200,000 in its 2022 budget for the new truck.
A report by Chatsworth Fire Chief Mike Givens says the township’s 2005 model support and rescue truck is up for replacement. He says the current vehicle “does not have the capacity or compartment design” to carry certain pieces of equipment and is under-powered.
