Hockey legend Guy Lafleur is being laid to rest today.
His funeral is taking place at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral in downtown Montreal, starting at 11 this morning.
The ceremony is expected to be attended by family, friends and fans of Lafleur, along with former and current hockey players, as well as political figures, including Quebec Premier François Legault and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Lafleur, who helped the Canadiens win five Stanley cups in the 1970’s, died of cancer at the age of 70 on April 22.
The service will be telecast live in Canada in English and French, and streamed globally.
