The Canadian men’s national soccer team fell 1-0 to Panama Wednesday night in its final CONCACAF qualifying game for Qatar 2022.
Canada still finished atop the CONCACAF table, and will be joined by the United States and Mexico as direct qualifiers into the World Cup in November.
Costa Rica will play New Zealand in June in an intercontinental playoff for spot.
The loss for Canada on Wednesday to Panama assures it will be in Pot 4 of the World Cup draw on Friday, when the groups for Qatar will be revealed.
