The annual Holstein Maplefest is making its return for the 26th year at Love’s Sugar Bush.
The event will be held at 392098 Grey Road 109 on April 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on April 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It will feature pancakes, sausages, beans, maple syrup, and coffee, tea and juice. Prices are $5, $10, and $12 for varying sizes of the meals.
A variety of activities will also be held both days of the event.
Starting at 10 a.m. on April 9, The FireGuy with take to the stage to show off fire juggling, fire eating, fire breathing, and other fire based performances.
In between The FireGuy’s performances, there will be the Wild Ontario Raptor Show. An Wild Ontario Live Birds of Prey Program, it will entertain and educate on Ontario’s wildlife.
Then on April 10, the Wild Ontario Raptor Show will return along with Four Paws Flying Entertainment. This will feature the performances of world champion skilled disc catching dogs, high flying freestyle disc dogs, high jumping dogs, fast agility dogs, and cute trick dogs.
In the bush, there will be free demonstrations and activities including woodcarving, candle making, taffy in snow, bird feeder building, and sheep shearing.
On April 1, a Magical Burn bonfire will be lit at the park across from Love’s Sugar Bush at 8:15 p.m.
A Maple Glazed Pork take-out dinner will be held on April 2 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Prices for adults are $20, and $10 for children with all proceeds going to purchase a new community defibrillator.
Ray Love from Love’s Sugar Bush says, “lot’s to do on the weekend, geared to kids and looking forward to it. It is sort of a last minute effort but we are doing the best we can to have a really good show.”
