A man has been taken to hospital, after his boat caught fire in Georgian Bay.
The OPP say marine officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment responded to a report by a Tiny Township resident of a vessel fire off the west side of Beausoleil Island south of Gin Rocks on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers with the assistance of the operator of a private vessel transported the lone male occupant of the vessel to the Midland Town dock.
Police say he had been in the water for some time prior to the arrival of rescuers after abandoning the fiery ship.
He was transported to hospital for observation by County of Simcoe Paramedics, while the power boat was removed by a marine salvage service.
