Muskoka Arts & Crafts’ 59th Annual Summer Show is going to look different.
It’s going to be held online on the organization’s newly redesigned and rebranded website, https://muskokaartsandcrafts.com/.
Customers will be able to shop from the comfort of their home, cottage while enjoying a walk outdoors or boating on a lake. Muskoka Arts & Crafts is looking forward to this new evolution of the 2021 Summer Show and hopes its followers share its enthusiasm.
This change has been prompted by accommodating the way people are now making their art purchases as well as the shifting state of the current global pandemic. Muskoka Arts & Crafts’ first and foremost priority continues to be for the safety and health of its artists, volunteers, customers, service providers, staff and community.
“Muskoka Arts & Crafts is keenly aware of the amount of time, material resources and finances required by artists in order to prepare and attend art shows and by making this decision earlier this year, our artists were able to plan accordingly,” says Elene Freer, the executive director who also remarked that organizations also invest considerable time and money when hosting such events.
The online Summer Show will feature many of the show’s favorite returning artists as well as lots of artists who are making their debut such as Bracebridge painter, Janice Feist who remarks: “With the Summer Show, Muskoka Arts & Crafts has provided a consistent, supportive outdoor event for so many artists. As the pandemic has changed the direction of the Summer Show, I felt it important that I apply to be an exhibitor and be part of its online presence. It’s exciting to know that my work will have an audience from anywhere – the potential is huge. I am looking forward to hearing what people say about my work as it helps me to understand what the impact of my work is on the viewer. It pushes me to continue working and growing.”
Visitors to the online Summer Show will see hundreds of artworks by new and returning Summer Show artists and learn how and why it was made as many of our artists have provided intriguing written commentary. When you are ready to make a purchase, you can do so securely and easily through our new website, https://shop.muskokaartsandcrafts.com/.
From the collections link, select the Summer Show from the drop-down menu. There are different options for receiving your art with artists providing either shipping (at the customer’s expense), curbside pickup (in the artists’ home communities), and with some providing delivery within Muskoka or the artists’ home communities. As the one-of-a-kind art is sold, it will be replaced with new work so people will have to visit more than once. Your purchases support artists and the not-for-profit visual arts organization, Muskoka Arts & Crafts.
It all begins on Friday, July 16 at 10 am and continues for four weeks until Saturday, August 14 at 5 pm.
