Crime statistics in Brockton appear to be headed in the right direction which is downward.
In written reports presented by South Bruce OPP Detachment Commander, Inspector Krista Miller, violent crime in the region is down 18% in year to date numbers.
In property crime, cases are down 56% in April and year to date, down 52%.
Frontline officers continue to conduct proactive patrols in an attempt to reduce property crime offences while members of the joint Community Street Crimes Unit thoroughly investigate these types of calls for service.
Drug crime is minimal at best with only 1 case of drug trafficking in April.
Overall clearance rates are up in 2021 compared to 2020 in regards to Violent Crime, Property Crime and Drug Crimes.
South Bruce OPP has also launched an E- Ticketing Program.
Officers are now trained to complete Provincial Offence Notices electronically utilizing in-car software.
Driver’s licences are scanned and tickets generated electronically.
