The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) has issued a boil water advisory effective today (Mar 23rd) for a portion of Victoria Crescent in Orillia.
Specifically, it covers the area between 167B to 243 Victoria Cres and it comes after a recent water main break.
Notices have been hand-delivered door-to-door to affected residents. It’s anticipated the advisory will be in effect until Thursday, March 25th.
The City says the water main break was fully repaired yesterday and today but until further notice, they ask that the residents of the area bring their water to a rapid boil for a minimum of one minute or seek an alternative source of safe drinking water, such as bottled water.
The City is working with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, as well as the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, to review the situation and ensure that the water delivered to you is safe.
