Just a heads up for commuters… a Winter Weather Travel Advisory is in effect for Toronto and the GTA.
Environment Canada says total amounts of 5 to 15 cm are expected by Friday morning.
It says the hardest hit areas will be portions of the Greater Toronto Area, particularly downtown Toronto, southern Etobicoke, Mississauga, Milton, and Oakville.
This includes sections of the following highways:
-Highway 403
-Highway 407
-Highway 427
-Queen Elizabeth Way
-Gardiner Expressway
The weather agency says the snow will start to fall midday today through Friday morning, with the steadiest snowfall expected tonight.
As for Simcoe County and Muskoka, the forecast is calling for a couple of cms of snow tonight and tomorrow.

Lake enhanced snowfall is expected to locally boost snowfall amounts to 10 to 15 cm in parts of the west end of the Greater Toronto Area.
