You can now submit building permit applications online in Huntsville.
It’s thanks to a new Cloudpermit system that gives homeowners and industry professionals the ability to submit applications to Huntsville.ca
You can start making applications on January 1st.
“The switch to a digital permitting system is very exciting for both staff and the community,” says Christopher Nagy, Huntsville’s Chief Building Official. “It provides a more efficient and sustainable approach to our operations, bringing valuable new tools to our community.”
The cloud-based permit software is a one-stop-shop for professionals or homeowners looking to build in Huntsville. It provides each user their own portal for application submissions, inspections and approvals, as well as integration with building staff, scheduling, online billing and payments.
The Town will be the first community in Muskoka to launch an online permitting system,
“Over the past few months we have engaged the public to test-drive and choose the right software for Huntsville,” adds Nagy, “Contractors and designers are pleased that they can submit applications 24 hours a day, navigate the easy-to-follow workflow and receive updates on their project in real-time.”
For staff, the ability to use the mobile tool to conduct site inspections, upload images and reviews to the project remotely, further provides efficiencies within the entire application process.
Department staff are also excited to conduct community training sessions in the new year.
The public is being encouraged to follow the Town on social media for the specific dates or connect with building@huntsville.ca to be added to an email list.
If you have a paper-based application, you can still come to Town Hall for help with the online application.
