A new residential hospice in Port Carling is expected to welcome its first guest today.
Andy’s House has been in the works since 2012, and is named after OPP Constable Andrew Potts, who died in a collision with a moose on Muskoka Road 169 in 2005.
The building will feature :
- 10 private rooms, 7 for palliative care and 3 for post surgical recovery and respite care
- Individual or shared washrooms for residents
- Space for private, confidential interaction
- Kitchen
- An Inter-Denominational Chapel
- Controlled access to individuals rooms
