An army of more than four thousand hydro workers spent the weekend restoring power to thousands of local homes and businesses.
The majority of the city of Orillia is back on line, but there are still about 10,000 customers in the surrounding area still waiting to be reconnected to the grid more than a week after the ice storm.
Orillia will be closing its emergency relief center as of Monday evening. The city says about 6,000 people made use of the center since it opened last weekend.
In Muskoka, there are also more than 8,000 customers with no power in the Bracebridge area.
