Arran-Elderslie’s annual report outlining what municipal councillors are paid for their work is out.
Not including expenses or Bruce County Council, In 2024, Mayor Steve Hammell’s basic remuneration was $18,676.
Deputy Mayor Jen Shaw earned $15,326, not including County Council.
The rest of municipal council was each paid $7,551.
Expenses for all of council totalled $5,611, not including mileage which was $3,060. Interim Treasurer David Munro says that was less than expected.
Overall, the report for 2024, says it cost $108,176 for a municipal council in Arran-Elderslie which includes Chesley, Paisley, Tara and part of Allenford.
Council members may also be paid by other local boards and committees, which were not included in these totals.
