A Special weather statement is in effect for our area.
Environment Canada is calling for a significant spring ice storm this weekend.
Ice accretion is expected to occur from freezing rain in amounts ranging from 5 to 15 mm, with amounts in excess of 20 mm possible.
Possible snow and ice pellet accumulations of 5 to 15 cm are expected too, bringing with it the possibility of utility outages.
Residents should be aware of resulting slippery surfaces and broken tree branches from ice build-up.
It’s all expected to start late Friday and end Monday.
