Huron County’s Economic Development Team kept busy last year with supported local projects.
In 2024, the Supporting Local Economic Development (SLED) program provided $100,000 towards 16 local initiatives.
The Huron County Economic Development Board provided $90,000 of the program’s budget with an additional $10,000 in support from Community Futures Huron.
The projects were all based in Huron County and achieved one or more of the following priorities from THRIVE 2022-2025 Economic Development Strategic Plan:
- Re-engagement, education, attraction and/or retention of workforce
- Impacts business districts and/or key sectors
- Advances community development and/or tourism sector development
- Projects focused on youth and/or newcomers building a stronger sense of community.
Four projects have carried over to 2025.
