Huronlea Home for the Aged will need to have some repair work done thanks to the recent thaw.
Melting snow and ice have caused an estimated $700,000 in water damage to Huronlea.
The affected areas include the ceiling of the foyer, four resident rooms, three apartments, the dining room, the program manager’s office, the director of care office, as well as the ceiling and a wall outside the hair salon.
The assessments to the home were completed by restoration company On Side and environmental consulting firm Smart Tech, along with Claims Pro.
Huronlea is able to maintain its 97% occupancy.
They’re waiting to hear back from the insurance company. The deductible for the claim is $100,000.
