OPP has announced significant results in the fight against online child exploitation with Project Steel, a coordinated national operation.
Of the arrests, two are from our area; a 39 year old Barrie man and a 40 year old man from Angus. Another male from Etobicoke will be in Orillia court March 18th.
In all 31 victims were identified, 20 children safeguarded,there were 40 arrests, and 151 charges laid with just under 700 electronic devices seized.
Police say parents, educators, child advocates, the government and technology suppliers must all be vigilant and play a huge role in fighting this scourge.
