Owen Sound police say they’ve made arrests in connection to a large butter theft.
Police say on Sunday, February 23rd, a loss prevention officer at an upper east side grocery store reportedly saw three men steal several containers of ghee (clarified butter) from the store.
Police say the men left in a vehicle and went to another store.
They say that same loss prevention officer, now off duty, happened to be in that store and recognized them, then called police.
City police say the suspects had over $1,000 worth of butter and almost $300 worth of ghee.
Two men from Brampton, aged 24 and 21, and a 21 year old Caledon man face charges of Theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
The men are scheduled to make a court appearance in Owen Sound in March.
