Goderich Council had its first 2025 budget meeting.
The budget that was presented to council by town staff included $17,80,035 in capital projects.
That would cover new North Harbour road stairs for, a new columbarium for the cemetary, a new roof for the Victoria Park pavillion, and a new HVAC unit for town hall.
Council also chose to defer the costs associated with relocating the dog park.
There were also discussions held surrounding community grants.
The town also has asset projects planned, including phase 1 of the downtown square revitalization project, a watermain replacement on Suncoast Drive between Highway 21 and Eldon, and completing the construction at Albert & Angelsea.
The town is also looking to invest in new vehicles, including a new pumper truck for the fire department, and an animal control SUV.
There is also new equipment at town facilities needed, including equipment at the water and wastewater plants, a new mower for the airport, and a phone system upgrade.
