It’s welcomed news for seniors in Clinton looking to feel more active and included,
ONE CARE Home & Community Support Services has opened a new Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC) at the Betty Cardno Memorial Centre.
In a news release from ONE CARE, the organization says the new Seniors Active Living Centre aims to promote wellness, social interaction, inclusion, and education to meet the diverse needs of older adults in Clinton Central Huron and surrounding areas.
“With 26.9 per cent of Central Huron’s population aged 65 and older — well above the national average of 19 per cent — this new centre will directly address the needs of this growing demographic.”
Among the activities included are:
- Community meals and cooking classes
- Exercise and wellness programs
- Arts, culture, and hobby events
- Health promotion and educational workshops
- Social and caregiver support groups
- Music and entertainment events
