Winter is a good time of year for soup, and there’s an event where you can fill up on all kinds of soup for a good cause.
The third annual Soup’s On event in support of the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce is set to go Saturday in Owen Sound.
Community Development Coordinator Michelle Fleming says there are ten local soup vendors with over 20 soups to try.
“It’s a great community event. Everybody had a lot of fun last year, last couple of years and it’s a great way to grab a friend and come out and enjoy a wintry afternoon.” says Fleming.
You can also buy a pottery bowl made by a local potter for your soup.
There will also be a silent auction with over 100 items to bid on. The auction will continue until January 27th online. (alzheimer.ca/greybruce)
Brian Tannahill will be providing entertainment on the main stage and Petunia the Clown will be twisting up her amazing balloon animals.
Last year’s event raised about $30,000.
