We have two weather alerts today (Monday, January 20)
An extreme cold warning has been issued for Simcoe and Muskoka by Environment and Climate Change Canada for today through Wednesday, with wind chill values near -30°C in Simcoe and near -35°C in Muskoka.
Risks include frostnip, frostbite, and hypothermia. Additionally cold weather can worsen health issues like heart or lung problems. People who are most at risk include those without secure housing, older adults, babies and kids, and those who work or play outside.
And there is a snow squall watch in effect for Barrie Collingwood and Hillsdale with possible squalls this afternoon..as well as Orillia, Washago and Lagoon City.
