West Grey Police say they have laid charges against an owner in a serious dog attack.
They say on January 2nd, police and municipal animal control began an investigation into a dog attack on a 58 year old male who was jogging on the Glenelg-Holland Townline.
According to West Grey Police, the man suffered serious, life altering injuries in the attack by multiple dogs for several minutes. They think between 5 and 10 dogs.
They say the attack ended when a passing driver chased the pack of dogs off and transported the man to the Markdale hospital. Police say he is still in hospital.
A 69 year old West Grey woman was arrested on January 14th and is charged with one count of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
Police say the owner is now under strict conditions in relation to control of the dogs, and note she will appear in court in Walkerton at the end of February to answer to the charge.
Grey Bruce Public Health has also been assisting in the investigation.
