Masen Wray had two goals and an assist to help the Owen Sound Attack to a 5-2 win over the Barrie Colts in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday evening at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
Carter George made 25 saves in his return to Attack net after starring for Canada at the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championship. The Attack faithful at the Bayshore showered George with cheers at near every opportunity throughout the game.
Landen Hookey, Harry Nansi and Declan Waddick also scored for Owen Sound (11-22-2-3), who picked up their first win of 2025.
Bode Stewart and Emil Hemming had the goals for Barrie (24-1-1-1), who lost their second in a row.
Owen Sound’s win came after a busy day on the trade front. The team sent now former captain Konnor Smith to the Brampton Steelheads for seven draft picks. And then acquired rookie forward Cole Zurawski — the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection — from the Flint Firebirds for forward Sam McCue and picks.
Zurawski was in the lineup last night, wearing No. 17 for the Attack against the Colts.
