An open house is planned for later this month to provide more details on a proposed energy storage facility in Arran-Elderslie.
The open house will be held on Jan. 21 at the Tara Community Centre from noon to 2 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Those who attend can provide feedback on the proposed Tara BESS, formerly Grey Owl Storage project, which will be collected and used in development applications.
It will go over the layout of the project, the technology involved, environmental assessments, and the development process.
This comes after the province’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) gave the approval for the project in Arran Township in May, 2024.
The development will be a battery storage facility, which will hold 400 MW of energy and add it to the province’s electrical grid.
The project aims to begin operations in late 2027.
