Provincial Police say a man was arrested following a brief foot chase in Thornbury, after allegedly breaking into a vehicle.
OPP officers were called to a theft in progress at a residence on Arthur Street in Thornbury around 3 p.m. Saturday. Police say a man was seen stealing items from a vehicle parked in a driveway.
“The male fled on foot but was quickly located and subsequently arrested by police. The male was found to be in possession of several stolen items,” OPP say in a release.
The OPP also allege the male accused had entered another vehicle in a parking lot on King Street in Thornbury.
“Police have been able to positively identify the owners of several items that were stolen,” a statement from the OPP explains.
A 38-year-old Thornbury man faces charges of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
