The Tom Thomson Art Gallery is going to be temporarily closing due to an HVAC replacement.
The City of Owen Sound says that the gallery will be closing its exhibition spaces starting on January 6th for the planned replacement of its aging HVAC systems.
During the closure, Tourism at the TOM will be open from Monday – Fridays so visitors can still access services and purchase merchandise.
The exhibition spaces are expected to re-open in early spring with three new shows.
The gallery will also still be hosting its March Break camps at Harrison Park, and an Earth Day collaboration called Upcycling Tom.
The collaboration is a partnership with students from Keppel-Sarawak Elementary and Owen Sound District Secondary Schools, as well as the Owen Sound Waste Watchers.
The project will be shown in the TOM atrium on April 26th.
The TOM is also going to be reopening the gallery with an exhibition called Safekeeping, which focuses on protecting the environment and nature.
