Parts of Huron County will begin 2025 with a Flood Outlook from conservation officials.
The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority issued a Water Safety / Flood Outlook advisory, following steady rainfalls in the region Sunday and Monday.
In a news release from the ABCA, “saturated ground conditions and remaining snowmelt will result in a rapid runoff, adding to already high flows.”
While high-impact flooding is not expected, water levels in the larger watercourses are expected to exceed bank full conditions with flood waters well into the traditional low-lying flood plain areas.
The Water Safety / Flood Outlook advisory is in effect until Thursday at 9:00 a.m.
