West Grey is looking at selling some land to facilitate a proposed 134 unit housing development in Durham.
Council approved requesting staff to bring back a bylaw to close the subject lands and authorize the sale to Khanani Developments Inc. during its meeting on Dec. 17.
This comes after council received a offer from Khanani Development to purchase a municipal road allowance for the development of the subdivision in October.
Council had declared the subject lands stretching along Park Street, John Street, Jackson Street, Hunter Street, and Georgian Street surplus in November.
At a closed session meeting in November, council directed staff to accept the $66,100 offer from Khanani Developments to purchase the land, subject to conditions.
These include facilitating the transaction, close the subject lands and authorizing the sale to the company.
