A home destroyed by fire in Goderich is described by the town’s Fire Chief as a total loss.
Crews were called to the blaze at a home on Victoria Street around 6:40 Wednesday morning, between Hamilton Street and Newgate Street.
Goderich Fire Chief Jeff Wormington says the home was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported.
Chief Wormington says the occupant of the neighbouring home was evacuated, along with their animals.
Highway 21 was closed while fire crews attended the blaze, but is expected to reopen in the afternoon.
