A group of women dedicated to supporting charities in Grey Bruce has stepped up with a $29,000 dollar donation for the Salvation Army in Wiarton.
Roni Delleman, Community and Family Services Manager at the Salvation Army says in a statement, “This generous $29,000 donation will do more than support our mission — it will create valuable opportunities for building relationships that lead to lasting transformation. This money will assist us in nurturing strong connections, which will enable individuals to flourish and ignite positive change that extends far beyond the gift itself.”
A release says the Salvation Army Wiarton provides many programs in the community including a Community and Family Services Department which offers a variety of programs. One of these programs is the management and operations of the Bruce Peninsula Community Food Bank, distributing over 32,000 kilograms of food a year.
The $29,000 donation from 100 Women Who Care will be used to support the Food Bank, the Community Meals program and will send kids to camp.
In 2024 100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce donated $107,100.00 to four charities in Grey Bruce. Along with Salvation Army Wiarton this year’s recipients have been M’Wikwedong Indigenous Friendship Centre, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the YMCA Stepping Stone to Home program.
100 Women Who Care hope to continue to grow. For more information and the dates of meetings check them out at https://100womengreybruce.ca/
