A stolen pick-up truck’s been recovered in Owen Sound and a 34-year-old man faces charges.
Owen Sound Police say the truck was stolen from an east-side apartment building around 5 a.m. Thursday morning.
According to police, the suspect found a spare key inside the vehicle and took off in it.
Police officers later found the truck abandoned and undamaged, then tracked a set of footprints near it in the snow.
“Officers tracked the footprints for several city blocks as they travelled through private yards, and over fences,” Owen Sound Police say in a release. “Police were able to utilize video surveillance evidence from the destination in which the offender fled to, which positively identified him.”
The 34-year-old Owen Sound man was arrested at his residence without incident, and charged with theft of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with a probation order.
