Arran-Elderslie is celebrating some upgrades at the Paisley Community Centre including a one-of-a-kind Zamboni bull.
The special wrap on the Zamboni is sponsored by the Bruce County Beef Farmers.
The municipality says it’s a fun nod to the rural village being in the heart of “cattle country,”
Other upgrades from the past year include an accessible elevator to the second floor. The Paisley Branch of the Bruce County Public Library moved into a renovated, bright space upstairs and a refreshed community hall is available for bookings.
The Municipality says, “The Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs and their competition are happy to have new rubberized flooring throughout the arena including the washrooms.”
The front of the building has professional gardens and the Paisley Artscape Society has added a street piano and sculptures for the summer including the ‘Saugie’ monster.
Mayor Steve Hammell says in a statement, “I am thrilled our community will have access to this beautiful accessible space.
Community Centres are hubs that bring community members together and support the well-being of our residents.”
The Paisley Community Centre and Memorial Arena is open daily in the winter.
Arran-Elderslie says everyone is encouraged to stop in to visit the library and take in a hockey game to catch a glimpse of the Zamboni Bull.
