The Municipality of Bluewater has partnered with Enbridge Gas Inc. for a life-saving initiative.
Bluewater officials announced they would be receiving 144 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms through “Safe Community Project Zero.”
The project provides more than 14 thousand of the alarms to residents in 75 communities across Ontario.
Over the program’s sixteen year run, over 101 thousand alarms have been given to fire departments across Ontario to disperse among residents.
When properly installed and maintained, combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms help provide the early warning to safely escape from a house fire or carbon monoxide exposure.
Carbon monoxide is a toxic, odourless gas that is a by-product of incomplete combustion of many types of common fuels.
