As of 5:00 pm today, warming centres in Muskoka Lakes will be closed for the evening. If you or someone you know is still without power, and is in need of assistance, please call Muskoka Victim Services at 1-877-229-2217 or Canadian Red Cross at 1-800-850-5090.
All Township roads are open and clear however, snow clearing operations are still underway. Residents should anticipate road widening efforts over the next few days in preparation for additional snow in the forecast.
With more snow in the forecast, the Township is encouraging the community to replenish their 72-hour kit and be prepared for more winter weather.
Both the Bala and Port Carling arenas remain closed due to the snow load on each of the buildings. All arena programs and activities are cancelled until further notice.

We are encouraging residents to continue to exercise caution in the area:
- Stay off the roads and limit outings to essential travel only. If you need to travel, please drive according to the weather and road conditions, and take the necessary precautions to ensure for a safe journey;
- Limit your exposure to extreme cold temperatures and be sure to check on vulnerable members of the community;
- Clear snow away from blue 9-1-1 civic address signs to ensure emergency services can find your home in the event of an emergency;
- Ensure outside vents for all fuel-burning appliances are clear of snow and ice. Portable generators should only be used outdoors and carefully located to ensure exhaust fumes do not enter the home;
