The International Plowing Match committee is unveiling its logo ahead of the event making its return to Bruce County in 2026.
One of the Organizers of the International Plowing Match Bill Walker says the logo depicts the 50th Anniversary of the event in Bruce County.
“We wanted to have something that was indicative of agriculture, rural living and make people from Bruce County proud,” says Walker.
He adds they have also created some souvenirs ahead of the plowing match, which are available online here until Dec. 11.
“We want to inspire people to come out to the plowing match in 2026 and we then gone ahead and started the first wave of souvenirs. A lot of people collect these type of things and many people have gone to almost every plowing match or certainly in Bruce County, this will be the fourth time,” says Walker.
The souvenirs includes clothing and a mug.
“We will start to develop more things, we just kind of want to get things going a bit before Christmas,” says Walker.
The International Plowing Match and Rural Expo is scheduled to return to Bruce County Sept. 20-26, 2026 at Lang Farms, just west of Walkerton.
Walker says planning for the event is going well with many people coming out to volunteer and exhibitors showing interest in participating.
“We are really just ramping up, getting all those committees in place, getting the structure in place. We really want to make this a plowing match that everyone in Bruce County can be proud of,” says Walker.
