The federal goverment is going to offer a two month GST vacation on some items. And $250 for working Canadians.
The Trudeau Liberals and the NDP have agreed to a deal in which GST won’t be charged on a list of products including prepared hot foods from grocery stores, beer and wine, diapers, Christmas trees, kids clothing and toys. It will start December 14th and run to mid Feb.
The government is also planning to send out cheques to some Canadians in the spring.
“The working Canadians rebate will be a $250 cheque which will be sent to people in April. Canadians who worked in 2023 and earned up to $150,000 would receive the money.
