West Grey is going to consider making a zoning by-law amendment for a proposed 146 unit subdivision in Durham.
The amendment would rezone about 15.8 hectares of land to high density residential to allow for the construction of the subdivision, which would include a mix of townhouses, a three-storey apartment and parkland.
To accommodate the proposed subdivision, the project is looking to extent Chester Street as well as construct new streets with a connection to Grey Road 4.
This follows after a public meeting was held in September, 2023, where the municipality received several comments from neighbouring property owners.
A report from Manager of Planning and Development David Smith says, “West Grey will work with the County of Grey in the crafting of suitable condition of draft approval. The county is the decision-making authority in respect to the final wording of any condition of draft approval. A subdivision agreement between the developer and West Grey will be required.”
Council will consider approving a zoning by-law amendment during its meeting on Nov. 19 at 9 a.m.
