The Muskoka Junior C Bears weekend results are in.
Stayner 9, Muskoka 0
The Muskoka Bears faced a tough night Saturday on home ice, falling to the Stayner Siskins in a lopsided 9-0 defeat during a game dedicated to honouring our local heroes.
Despite the on-ice struggles, the Bears organization proudly celebrated First Responders Night, welcoming special guests Mgr. Darcy Medland of the Muskoka Ambulance Service, Kevin Plested, Chief Fire Prevention Officer, and Provincial Constable James Reading of the Ontario Provincial Police.
While the scoreboard wasn’t in the Bears’ favour, the evening highlighted the importance of community, as fans rallied to show their appreciation for the courage and dedication of our first responders, and their loyalty to our Muskoka Bears Junior C Hockey Club.
Huntsville 4, Muskoka 0
The Muskoka Bears couldn’t find the back of the net in a 4-0 loss to the Huntsville Otters, on Friday night but there were bright spots in an otherwise frustrating night.
Despite an unfavourable outcome, the Bears’ penalty kill stood tall, successfully shutting down several Huntsville power plays and keeping the game within reach for much of the night.
The hometown crowd that made the trip to Huntsville were fantastic, with Bears fans creating an electric atmosphere that never wavered, even as the scoreboard remained unkind.
Upcoming this weekend there are two home games
Saturday 7pm host Alliston Hornets
Sunday 2pm host Innisfil Spartans
Manna Food Bank Night
Fans encouraged to help bring a non perishable food item.
