Legh McNabb has been awarded the prestigious Becky Smit Green Builders Award at the 2024 Green Party of Ontario Convention, held this past weekend in Kingston.
This award celebrates a dedicated volunteer who has made significant contributions to establishing and growing a Green presence within their community.
Legh retired from the Trillium Lakelands District School Board after a remarkable career spanning over 30 years as an elementary school teacher. Since 2007, she has been a steadfast supporter of Matt Richter’s campaigns, beginning when Richter was a young teaching colleague of hers.
In her role as Phone Coordinator, Legh has become the driving force behind outreach efforts across the riding, helping to bring Richter to a striking 40% of the vote in the 2022 election.
“Connecting with residents is not something we only do during election cycles,” says McNabb. “We Greens believe in listening to people and understanding what truly matters to them in their everyday lives. For us, people and the planet always come before party politics.”
With the potential for an early election on the horizon, Legh and her team are working tirelessly to expand their reach throughout Parry Sound, Almaguin, and Muskoka. Their focus remains on connecting with voters one conversation at a time, continuing the momentum that began in 2022.
“We’re committed to finishing what we started in 2022” says McNabb.
