South Bruce OPP says a Kincardine man is facing assault charges after brandishing a weapon towards an officer.
Police say on Nov. 11 around 4:15 p.m., officers received a report of an unwanted person at an address along Queen Street in Kincardine.
When officers arrived on the scene, police say a man brandished an edged weapon towards law enforcement. They were taken into custody after a brief struggle with police.
As a result, the 30-year-old accused is charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, two counts of failing to comply with probation, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resisting a peace officer, and possession of stolen property.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and was remanded into custody.
