The City of Owen Sound lowered municipal flags ahead of Remembrance Day, and to mark National Indigenous Veterans Day.
The city held a ceremony on Friday morning, and are encouraging residents to take a pause and remember and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their county.
The ceremony was held at the Gichi-Name Wiikwedong Reconciliation Garden at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park.
On Remembrance Day, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6 will be holding a public ceremony at the Owen Sound Cenotaph to recognize those who have served and continue to serve our country.
There will be road closures for the parade, affecting 2nd Avenue East, 1st Avenue East, and 1st Avenue West between 8th Street and 9th Street East.
Owen Sound City Hall and Public Works buildings will also be closed on Monday, November 11th, and return to regular operating hours on Tuesday, November 12th.
