Brockton is marking the opening of a new 60-unit apartment building in Walkerton.
The municipality says staff gathered at the what it calls an upscale apartment building in the East Ridge Business Park with local construction and property management company WT Living.
The new building features one and two-bedroom suites, as well as private balconies, a party room, fitness centre, and pickleball courts.
The business park is also home to residential, recreational, government, retail, commercial and industrial uses.
Residents began moving into the rental units last month and Mayor Chris Peabody says the apartment building is a welcome addition to the East Ridge Business Park.
“We are incredibly excited that WT Living chose Walkerton for this project,” says Peabody. “Brockton is continuing to grow, and we take a proactive approach to planning and development in this park and throughout Brockton. The rental suites available here will help ensure new residents and our growing workforce have a place to call home.”
WT Living aims to establish quality rental apartments in smaller communities throughout southwestern Ontario.
