A Mono Township man is lucky to be alive, after he fell out of his small boat Thursday east of Midland.
Provincial police say the 60-year-old, who was wearing a bright yellow life jacket, spent more than an hour in the cold water, before he managed to pull himself up onto a rock shoal nearly half a kilometer off shore near Waubaushene.
A retired OPP officer and his spouse who live nearby noticed a yellow speck on the rocks and called emergency services.
The OPP marine unit was able to reach the man.
He was taken to hospital for treatment of hypothermia.
