A man is dead, and an OPP officer is in hospital after an incident in Orillia Thursday afternoon.
The Special Investigations Unit says the officer was stabbed and discharged his firearm.
Another officer also used a taser.
The 26-year-old suspect was pronounced dead in hospital. The OPP member is in stable condition.
The SIU says it all started with a disturbance at a place on Barrie Road.
Police tracked down a person involved in the area of Cochrane and Matchedash Streets where the incident took place.
